Why do the church want to get to young kids in school? They have a church, you are invading the secular values of this country, seperation of church and state. You associate the school with a church. The chaplain is not allowed to push the relgion but by that association you have used the back door to push the religion. Peer pressure from other students is pushing the religion on to other children. You get to young childrens minds to make them believe a fairy story. You replace the mind to look for explanation with the god explanation. I notice the absence of any relation to atheists. Morals do not come from a book, morals come from us and not from the bible. Just read the whole bible to find what an immoral book it is. Keep your religion to yourself and leave our kids alone. Schools are forcing atheists in to these classes or sitting in naughty rooms or punishments. What next a church within the school?
Mark.. it can be equally argued that ‘secularism’ is just as much a ‘religion’ as anything else..it is an ideology and it is being taught to vulnerable children on a daily basis. The presuppositions contained in secularism are very dangerous and no child should be subjected to them. That’s our ‘opinion’…and is ours any less valid than yours?
You seem to be assuming that secular-ism is the default and original and infallible true way of understanding life and the universe. You must believe it is infallible or you would not be trying to protect that ‘ism’. On the other hand, Christianity is based on the life of Christ, and his teaching, signs and wonders, death and resurrection. Surely this is far more compelling than a mere opinion by a “Mark Elsby” ?
