This is an excelllent clip and surprisingly on a commercial channel. Let’s hope lots of people watched it who don’t normally inform themselves of what’s happening re the religious right’s scheming to control what we do!

We have a catholic faith influenced opposition and the Islamic religion trying to force their influence now in the media. We have the ACL now trying to force their dogma on everybody else. The media needs to highlight this and show it up to what it is. When you have politicians who are against something and pretend it is not their religious beliefs then it is disingenuous. This was highlighted by a certain senator in press this morning. The push to put chaplains in schools and the religious teaching in queensland were all politically motivated satisfy the religious right. Religion should be a private affair and it being pushed in the public arena is bad for anybody else who does not agree. I am waiting for the first politician here to declare god is on his side.

“It’s not what they believe, it’s whether or not they want to impose those beliefs on everyone else.”

“Religious people can go and live however they like in a free society, it’s just that they don’t have to impose it on everyone else.”

Amen to that.

What reason do politicians have to deny the rights of gay people to same sex marriage in the eyes of the state other than a religious bias?
